The course consists out of six lessons which inclueds:
1. Blood sugar monitoring
2. Thermoregulation
3. Blood Pressure Monitoring
4. Blood Sampling and Lab work
5. Family Support
6. Post-test
1. Describe thermoregulations and the risk of hypothermia during the first hours after birth.
2. Describe hypothermia and interventions to decrease the incidence of hypothermia.
3. Identify respiratory distress in the neonate and prepare for intubation if needed.
4. Describe the causes and treatment goals for neonates suffering from hypothermia and hypoglycemia.
5. Identify the prenatal and postnatal risk factors for infection, the clinical signs of neonatal sepsis.
6. Identify methods healthcare providers can support parents of sick infants who require care in a neonatal intensive care unit.
